Experience
I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Denver. I hold both a Master of English Textual Studies and a Master of Philosophy. A future academic goal is to earn a PhD in Philosophy. Following graduation, I worked professionally both teaching college English and tutoring students in subjects that include philosophy, sociology, writing, French, Italian, Spanish, and English. I'm adept at teaching students on all levels. My teaching method is to first meet with a student to find out how much of the discipline he or she knows, their goals, and any issues or concerns they may have. After gaining this information, I put together a personal plan for the student. Next, I go through my cache of teaching tools to discover which will offer the ideal utility for them. Any learning plan is always a work in progress. I am constantly evaluating to see if any other areas need addressing. My goal is to create a learning environment that offers the student the highest level of growth. I am a world traveler and have lived in several places in the United States as well as abroad including Peru, Mexico, Spain, and Italy. When not teaching, I enjoy traveling, Tai Chi, yoga, and getting to know interesting people. I also love spending time with my pets which include Newfoundland and English Mastiff dogs and two cats.
